On the golden evening of June 21, 2025, The Tempayan at Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana, hosted the third edition of Sensory Soirée—a signature event that blends immersive dining with art, community, and creativity. This chapter marked a special collaboration with Terartai, an Indonesian social enterprise that empowers artists with autism, cerebral palsy, and Down Syndrome.

 

As the sun dipped into Ubud’s serene rice paddies, guests gathered to enjoy the soulful ambiance of the open-air terrace—serenaded by chill lounge beats, surrounded by art, and holding cocktails inspired by Terartai’s vibrant works. Each drink was not just a treat for the palate but a tribute to the creativity of the Terartai artists, with a portion of the sales directly supporting their mission.

 

Chef Dean’s Kitchen Laboratory Came to Life
The evening also served as a culinary playground for Executive Chef Dean Nor, who crafted a curated selection of dishes exclusively for the soirée. Guests had the chance to sample:

• Poke Tuna Bowl – Featuring sashimi-grade maguro, wakame salad, edamame, ikura, avocado, organic onsen egg, and pickled ginger with gomadare sauce.

• Pork Belly Mantou – A Japanese-style pork belly nestled in a house-made mantou bun with tomato, lettuce, and Hainanese chili sauce.

• Chicken Taco – A flavorful bite of free-range chicken leg in a crispy taco shell, avocado, tomato salsa, hummus cream, and nacho cheese.

Many of these dishes may soon debut on the restaurant’s à la carte menu—allowing more diners to enjoy the evolving flavors of The Tempayan.

 

Bali-Inspired Art & Meaningful Merchandise
In a heartfelt tribute to the island’s spirit, Terartai unveiled three specially created artworks reflecting the essence of Bali. From these pieces came a new line of thoughtful merchandise—tote bags, scarves, pouches, and bandanas—each crafted with purpose and bursting with personality. The launch of these collections during the Sensory Soirée was a proud milestone for Terartai and a moment of joy for the artists behind the pieces.
