Moon Sipper Club Joins the Soiree: A Night to Remember Under Bali’s Skies
At The Tempayan, we believe that every meal is a story waiting to be told, and our Sensory Soirée event series is the perfect platform to tell these stories. Our mission is to harmonize local enterprises and culinary enthusiasts while preserving and celebrating Indonesia's rich culinary heritage in a way that's both innovative and immersive.
Sensory Soirée, our passion project, is where tradition and innovation coalesce. It's an exploration of flavors, a celebration of community, and a journey into the heart of Bali’s vibrant culinary landscape. It's where the art of gastronomy meets the spirit of camaraderie.
Chapter 1: Moon Sipper Club Lights up the Night
Our inaugural event featured a collaboration with Moon Sipper Club, where sustainable cocktails took center stage. Imagine sipping your drink under pink and golden skies, overlooking lush rice paddy fields and a hot air balloon drifting gently above. With a curated playlist of soft lounge tunes, the atmosphere was nothing short of magical.
Moon Sipper Club, known for its commitment to sustainability, served up some of its signature concoctions, crafted by Yura Purnami. "The Golden Hour" danced with flavors of spiced rum, licorice, and cherry brandy, while "Chiara Negroni" added a tropical twist to the classic cocktail. The "Banyu Bening" was a delightful blend of Bali’s finest crafted Arak with homemade pandan syrup, a taste of the island’s essence.
Speaking of Arak, Bali's finest crafted Arak - Karusotju supported the evening by treating guests to complimentary tastings of their finest products, made from locally grown sweet potatoes, known as "honey yam,". When paired with spring water from Mount Batukaru, and goes through a slow maturation fermentation process in a breeze climate, it results in a smooth and delicate Arak.
But the night wasn't just about drinks. Executive Chef Dean showcased some of The Tempayan's signature dishes, including the Balinese Urutan, Tuna with Sambal Matah, Tanah Gajah Club sandwich, and Chef Dean's legendary aglio olio pasta. It was a culinary journey that left taste buds tingling and heart's content.
As the sun dips below the horizon, casting an enchanting twilight, the atmosphere shifts. Candles gently illuminate each table, while torches among the rice fields are ignited. The evening concludes with a mesmerizing Kecak and Fire dance show at The Amphitheater, a performance brought to life by the talented locals from Tengkulak Village. The rhythmic chants and flickering flames painted a vivid and captivating picture, providing a stunning finale to an unforgettable evening.
With our commitment to promoting Bali's local businesses, we're already planning more chapters of Sensory Soirée. Stay tuned for upcoming events that promise to be just as spectacular.
As the moonlight fades and the memories linger, we look forward to sharing many more stories, flavors, and enchanting evenings with you at The Tempayan.
