Meet one of our Tanah Gajah family members, who has been highly spoken about by countless guests.
Almost all of our guests have had the pleasure of getting to know Ni Made Nopiari (more commonly known as Nopi), who works as a senior waiter at The Tempayan restaurant. She attentively breezes between tables in our dining room, takes care of guests' orders, and serves our guests’ favourite dishes and drinks. Families may have also seen Nopi playing with their children, as Nopi is also the mother of a beautiful one-year-old son.
After majoring in hospitality, Nopi started her career at Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana as a food & beverage apprentice in 2013. Over the last decade, she has worked her way up and is now a junior supervisor in the food & beverage department.
“I really enjoy interacting with guests and listening to them share stories about their lives during their stay at Tanah Gajah, because It helps me to practice my English and it provides me knowledge about the different cultures of our guests.”
Throughout her career at Tanah Gajah, Nopi has been recognized as “Best Employee”
multiple times as she excels in understanding the guests' needs and a lot of our visitors have spoken highly of her.
“Tanah Gajah Ubud feels like a second home for everybody. Not only for its guests, but also the entire team. Compared to other properties, Tanah Gajah is relatively small. Therefore we treat our team and our guests as family members, just like how we treat them at our home. I live within the same community where the property is located, therefore I can really relate that Tanah Gajah feels like home to me.”
“For Balinese, meal time (especially dinner time) is what brings all of the family members together. It is the time when we share what we have experienced, learnt and encountered throughout our day. Therefore I really enjoy my work at the Tempayan and the stories that I hear from our guests about their day while enjoying a really good meal. This is what motivates me”.
“What makes Tanah Gajah unique, in my opinion, is that we only have 20 villas with six hectares of land, and the rest of the grounds are filled with beautiful paintings and sculptures by Balinese artists.”
Just like how everyone has their favourite spots in their home, Nopi really enjoys her time when she walks across the bridge across the swan pond. “This is my favourite spot on the property. You get to enjoy everything here. You can enjoy the view of rice paddy fields, feed our friends: the black and white swans and you get to see all of the animals that come to visit this oasis in the morning and afternoon.”
Nopi is one out of many dedicated employees and we are excited to share a little more of her story. We hope that our guests will continue to see her breezing through sections of the Tempayan.
We also want to offer our most sincere gratitude to our guests for your stories and your satisfaction, as that keeps motivating the Tanah Gajah family to make sure your stay is truly memorable.
