The vibrant coloured hot air balloon has been one of the most desired activities in Bali for adventurous travellers and couples seeking unique destinations to declare their love. The hot air balloon is popular amongst guests as it represents how colourful life seems when someone is full of joy from being in love.
 
At Tanah Gajah Ubud, especially in early mornings when most of our guests are still in bed, we often see pre-wedding photo shoots take place at The Tempayan restaurant and around the hot air balloon area. The golden sunrise, combined with serene rice paddy fields and our colourful hot air balloon hovering in the distance is a truly unique backdrop for a pre-wedding photo shoot and a scene that you won’t get anywhere else in the world.

Apart from pre-wedding photo shooting, we also have a number of guests who have organized their marriage proposal with a surprise hot air balloon ride. Normally a marriage proposal would start with a picnic afternoon tea overlooking the rice paddy fields. Once the soon-to-be groom gathered his courage, the Tanah Gajah Ubud team would start to inflate the hot air balloon and take the couple to the sky. Proposals normally take place in the air (our pilot has encountered a lot of quirky marriage proposal sentences). After the flight, the couple celebrates their joyful experience together with a romantic dinner.
